Antonio Morenés Bertrán, Business Development Manager of Spain
At the age of 14 I left my native Spain to go and study in England, where I spent a fantastic 5 years. Even at this young age I came to realise that the world was full of fascinating cultures; cultures that I wanted to explore. And then it happened, I was officially bitten by the travel bug!
At 22, I packed my backpack, left my life in Spain and set off on a new and exciting adventure. I drifted around the world for 3 and a half years learning a great deal about different cultures and ways of the world. I loved the feeling of not knowing what was going to happen the next day as I was constantly moving into the unknown. During this time I travelled extensively through South America, India, The Middle East, Africa and Europe. Out of all the places I visited, India was the country that captivated me the most. I fell in love with the people, the scenery, its vibrancy, ancient history and its delicious food. After that, I worked as a tour leader for two years in Europe, North Africa and The Middle East and came to the realisation that I could share all those beautiful places that I loved with the world.
Today, I am delighted to be a part of this beautiful project which is Babel Travel. Travelling is my passion and I strongly believe in Babel Travels' ethics and style of travel. I believe that the best travel experiences you can have is when you immerese yourself in different cultures to learn about the way people live. Even though I will miss being on the road, I feel ready for this new challenge and to bring these adventures to the Spanish speaking world.

Fanny Asselin, Business Development Manager of France, Belgium and Switzerland. Prior to working for Babel Travel, I travelled a great deal to many different countries all over the world. I started at a very young age while travelling with my parents, and after all of these years my passion has never left. Whether I'm travelling on a local bus, boat or train, wandering through small villages or talking with locals, I am fascinated by the world and their people.
After studying art history at the Sorbonne in Paris, where it seemed I was forever learning about different countries (great!) I decided I needed to travel to see the world for myself. So, I became a tour leader! I worked as a tour guide for various French travel companies, leading small groups that travelled on all types of public transport, getting off the beaten track and avoiding some of the main tourist centres.
The adventures Babel Travel offers are exactly what I would have wanted when I went looking to discover a country. Today, even though I am closely attached to France due to my role, I somehow feel that I am still travelling through the people that experience the world with Babel Travel.

My first solo trip abroad (and first time on a plane) was when I was fourteen years of age. That experience taught me the severe law of unforeseen events, my luggage didn't arrive for 5 days! Although my travel life didn't start off on a good note, my desire for travelling and to experience new places did not leave me, in fact it only grew stronger.
In my late teens I decided to live and study in Spain for 1 year. When I returned home, my concept of travelling was now very different. I felt that it wasn't good enough for me to merely 'see' new places; now I was more focused on fully experiencing them as well.
How could I combine this passion and link it to work? Easy, find a job in tourism! To start off, I worked as a Representative in Greece and Egypt and then travelled to Australia (as a tourist) to experience what "Down Under" had to offer. Soon afterwards, I landed a job as a tour leader for one of Australia's leading adventure travel companies working in Europe, Africa and South East Asia.
After leading for over two years in thirteen different countries, providing my clients with the time of their life and taking thousands of photos along the way(another major passion), I was offered the chance to work for Babel Travel. Of course, I said yes!
As this style of travel is very close to my heart, helping to grow the Babel Travel brand will come naturally for me. Our small group adventures are a much better way to discover those authentic ‘off-the-beaten-track’ places, and travelling in a sustainable way is the best way to go about it. Any reason is good enough to pick up your backpack and leave on a new and exciting adventure.
How about you?
