Hello, and welcome to Babel Travel
Babel Travel has been established in order to provide authentic, real life experiences to The Middle East and South East Asia. As a new and exciting company, our aim is not only offer a style of travel that is ‘foreign’ in many parts of the world, but to be the first adventure travel company to offer the same product, in many languages! Our first trips to the Middle East and South East Asia will be operated in French, English, Italian and Spanish, followed by many more languages in the future! As our slogan suggests, we Speak the Language of the Adventure Traveller.

When we travel, we strongly believe in Sustainable Tourism and feel that giving back to the people of the countries that we visit, is essential. Our trips benefit our small, locally owned travel companies, locally owned hotels, transport, local guides and leaders. 100% of our services will benefit local people. Normally tourism is the biggest, or one of the biggest industries in the countries we visit, so by choosing Babel Travel you will directly help and impact the lives of everyday people.
Our trips stay in distinctive forms of accommodation; from Moroccan Riads to Thai jungle camps, Iranian Caravanserais to traditional Vietnamese sailing boats. We also try and travel on every form of transport we can possibly find. If the locals can do it, then so can we! This could be a local bus, a ferry, taxi, metro, local train or even camels, donkeys and mules! Travelling on these different modes of transport not only gives you an opportunity to talk with local people, but it gives you a chance to experience the ‘real’ side of a country through the eyes of a local. One of the company’s philosophies, is to not only give a Babel Traveller the best travel experience of their life, but for them to fully understand and embrace cultural differences with the people of the world and find joy in the realisation that what we have in common far outweighs our differences.
Of course, we want you to see all the major sights and participate in all the main activities, but with an authentic, ‘adventurous’ flavour. An important facet of our trips is interacting and getting to know the local people. The CEO, as a very experienced operator throughout all of the countries that we travel to, has formed an excellent relationship with Babel Travel’s local operators, guides, hotel owners, tour leaders and even donkey handlers! All are very dear friends. This not only ensures a smooth trip and keeps the sell price of the trip very low, but also gives you a brilliant opportunity to get to know these wonderful people, their families and their way of life. A true, real life adventure!
We also include many interesting activities that are usually not found on many other company’s travel itineraries. From a cooking class with a local family in Iran, visiting and supporting a children’s charity in Vietnam, staying with tribal headhunters in Borneo, visiting and supporting a garbage recycling organisation in Egypt to visiting an Elephant rehabilitation centre in Thailand; each and every itinerary features at least one such activity, enabling you to get a better understanding of the country that you’re visiting. |
